Local Area

Tintagel

Tintagel Castle.

When visiting Tintagel it is unthinkable that anyone would want to leave out one of it’s crowning glories. The castle.

There has been a castle, or at least, a high status building, on this site since the Dark Ages.

Home at one time to Edward the ‘Black Prince’ the castle is , perhaps, best known as the legendary birth place of King Arthur. The baby Arthur being handed over to Merlin the magician in the cave beneath the castle that still bears his name.

King Arthur's Great Halls

One of the loveliest buildings in the area and the brainchild of Frederick Glasscock who loved the legends so and founded his own chivalric order which still meets in the ‘Halls’ designed by him.The ‘Halls’ houses the worlds largest collection of Pre-Raphaelite stained glass showing the legends of King Arthur and his knights.

The Old Post Office

A joy in the centre of the village. A perfect example of a medieval long house and still in use as a post office for special functions and editions of postage stamps.

Boscastle

Just outside the village of Tintagel. This outstanding village boasts some lovely coastline and a charming harbour as well as a fascinating museum of witchcraft with it’s own unique library of the occult.

Coastal Walks

The coastal path in this region is one of the longest in the country and is within easy reach of Bossiney Bay. The views from this outstanding coastal path are truly stunning and loved by all. Following the Coastal path can lead you into Tintagel, Boscastle or further, maybe you could start your Cornwall coast path adventure from us!

St Nectans Glen

A truly magical spot housing the cell and waterfalls associated with Saint Nectan, the possible brother in law of King Arthur.

This spot has been associated with the local occult legends for centuries and is still used by many who seek spiritual guidance and seclusion.

The grounds that surround this spot of astonishing beauty can easily be accessed by a path that leads direct from Bossiney Bay. An area of natural beauty and not to be missed.

A new visitor centre is being constructed at this moment together with a cafe and rest areas.
